An Open Letter to Justin Trudeau

To: The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, P.C., M.P.

Prime Minister of Canada

Office of the Prime Minister

80 Wellington Street

Ottawa, ON

K1A 0A2

Dear Prime Minister Trudeau,

As an ordained minister of the Gospel, and resident of Canada, it is my duty before the Living and Holy God to address a recent post you made on your public Twitter account dated March 8, 2023. In your communication to the public, you made a reply regarding International Women's day by stating the following.

And with a disturbing rise in anti-transgender hate here in Canada and around the world recently, I want to be very clear about one more thing: Trans women are women. We will always stand up to this hate – whenever and wherever it occurs.

Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau

Mr. Trudeau, first, your hateful rhetoric towards those who hold onto Christian principles and sexual ethics is appalling. You, as a representative of all Canadians, it is clear your divisive politics has caused more harm to this nation than a disagreement over sexual ethics. It seems you like to stoke the fire by calling out anyone with a different position than you, an individual of "hate." I disagree with many of your policies and your unethical performance as PM, but it does not mean I hate you. In fact, I am called by Holy Scripture to pray for you, and for your family.

First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made in behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4 NASB)

In your statement, you expressed concern over a disturbing rise in anti-transgender hate here in Canada. As a Prime Minister, you should understand people are allowed to disagree with someone's sexual ethics. Many religious people from many backgrounds and those who hold to no theistic belief may be bothered by aspects of sexuality of a person and still love them. The LGBTQIA2S+ agenda that is being pushed into people's homes, education centres and workplaces is more of an issue than what you call disturbing. If you want to promote it, you best be prepared to have feedback. The second matter is that you stated, "Trans women are women." I would like you to qualify this statement, sir. Seeing you so recklessly speak authoritative biological language, it would be prudent to back it up. I assume you deny the Biblical account of Creation and mock those who do according to the preamble of Bill C4, but perhaps since you are an expert on this, you could educate the populous on how is it possible for your statement to be correct. May I ask why it is that only males have a prominentia laryngea (Adams Apple)? What about the prostate and anatomy to produce sperm? The absence of a womb, fallopian tubes, cervix and milk glands that allow nursing a child? If you are able, please aid me and a large majority of Canadians in your educated expertise. Please also include your academic knowledge regarding the xx and xy chromosomes and how this changes because you said so.

You ended your Tweet with, "we will always stand up to this hate - whenever and whenever it occurs." Mr. Prime Minister, why are you violating your oath and showing strong discrimination against Christians with your strong liking of another group? Do not all Canadians deserve respect and space to exercise their fundamental freedoms? You do not stand up when Jesus Christ is publicly mocked and when Christian churches are burned. You never speak up on why Christians should have prayer rooms in schools like that of Muslims, nor do you act strongly against attacks on international Christians who are being executed at the hands of Islamic extremists. Your prejudice is evident, as is your agenda.

In closing, sir, the prophet Isaiah gave a strong warning when he stated, "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20). This is what you have done. You call evil good and darkness for light. Further, in the Proverbs, it is written, "He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the Lord (Proverbs 17:15). Your views and policies are guilty of this too, because of your position on Christianity.

As a Christian, I am bound by conscience and duty in the presence of King Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. (2 Tim 4:1-2) and will continue to do so regardless of your threats and disapproval. Your sphere of authority granted to you by the Almighty King (Romans 13:1-7) does not allow or permit you to determine whether what he has created is anything other than what it is. You do not get to redefine nor threaten a minister of the Gospel of what words he can or cannot say. It may serve you well to study church history. We have, in times past, faced great persecution. Christians were fed to the lions; we have been jailed, fined and even used as lampposts in ancient times. Believers worldwide have not and will not bend their knees to any tyrant ruler, even if it costs our life. Empires have fallen, nations too, but the Church will stand, the gates of hell will not prevail, and His word will endure.

May Christ have mercy on you and reveal to your sinful heart the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ so that you may repent of your sin and attack upon the Church of Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,

Rev. Steve Bainbridge
