Martyrs of Covenant Christian School

Granted, I am a Canadian, and in Canada, we do not witness the evil that comes from the systematic killing of individuals through firearms as our American counterparts, but when we hear news regarding such things, it shakes us to the core.

I was hesitant to write anything on the matter, but after reading much of the Canadian mainstream media, it is apparent what really took place in Nashville, will not be shared. Yes, reports regarding the brave police actions and the names of the fallen, but not the evil that lurked behind the scenes. What is that? The murderer was a female dealing with personal demons and mental issues, claiming to be part of the Trans community. The killer, who in cold blood, walked into a school, fully armed; targeted and killed children and adults for no other reason, other than, they were Christians. These innocent lives were lost because of whom they belonged to, the Lord Jesus. This is why they were martyrs. We cannot and should not allow any other label to be placed upon them. They were not simple victims or tragic numbers - they had names, they had faith and were murdered because of their association with Christ.

Each precious life had a name. William, Evelyn, Hallie, Katherine, Mike and Cynthia. These six gathered, prayed, learned and fellowshipped together as a school and as a family. However, Audrey Elizabeth Hale, who identified as a transgender male at the age of 28 decided they were the source of her misfortune. Having a written manifesto, walked into the school just after 10am, and started to shoot.

We will never know the true motives of this assailant. As for her, she has been judged by the Almighty. What we do know is this, there is a growing hatred for Christians. In fact, Jane Fonda publicly commented that those who oppose abortion should be murdered.

I am not saying Fonda is the cause of Nashville but since many mentally unstable individuals no longer have the care they need in psychiatric hospitals, it is hard to say how people may respond to such statements.

These three children and these three adults were brave. They finished the race, and they heard the call of their master, "well done thy good and faithful servant." We will honour these martyrs, we will pray for their families, the school and the church. We will learn from their example. Though the current world supports and encourages Christophobia to take place, we will continue to preach the Gospel and remember those who have gone on before us, including these brave souls.

In His Grace,

Pastor Steve
